Luoyan is a senior undergraduate student majoring in Automation at the University of Science and Technology of China. She is currently participating in a six-month academic exchange program at Cornell University, where she is advised by Professor Tapomayukh Bhattacharjee in the EmPRISE Lab.

Luoyan’s research interests primarily lie in assistive robotics and human-robot interaction. Additionally, she is deeply fascinated by how robots perceive the external world, especially through tactile sensation. She believes that perception forms the foundation of control, and with precise perception and acquisition of external information, robots can safely and efficiently carry out tasks in unstructured environments. Luoyan enjoys delving into circuits and holds a genuine passion for all things hardware-related.

Luoyan is actively seeking a PhD position currently. She believes that a good match in terms of shared interests and compatible personalities is the key.
